Lexmark introduced an array of new standalone and all-in-one printers last week along with a new six-color ink technology.
All the models will start shipping in the next few weeks.
The company’s newest standalone model is the Z816 Jetprinter. The Z816 has a $99 suggested retail price and can print at 15 pages per minute (ppm) in color and 22ppm in black.
Other features include borderless printing and color droplet sizes as small as 3 picoliters and optional six-color printing capability.
The four all-in-one models are the X5270, X4270, X1185 and X2250.
The X5270, $129 suggested retail price, can print photos and text with the same color and text speeds as the Z816. It adds a 48-bit flatbed scanner and has one-touch copying capability.
The X4270 is a five function all-in-one printer. The $129 device has a color print speed of 10ppm and text speed of 19ppm.
In addition to the basic standalone fax feature, the device has a handset so it can double as a home office phone, 99 speed dial settings and it supports Caller ID. The sheet-fed copier operates at 18 copies per minute in black and 6 in color. The scanner aspect is the same as in the other models.
The X1185 and X2250 are less sophisticated all in one devices. These are primarily lower-end inkjet printers with the X1185 featuring PC-enabled copying and the X2250 has standalone copying, but that is all. Respective suggested retail prices are $79 and $99.
All the models are expected to start shipping shortly.
