Business phone maker Polycom said it would ship a new DECT-based IP phone system geared toward small businesses this month, broadening its lineup of Kirk Wireless Server products.
The KWS line and related handsets are based on the SIP VoIP platform.
The KWS 300 can be scaled to accommodate additional users and wider coverage areas.
The KWS300 supports a maximum of 12 handsets, four simultaneous calls and six repeaters.
Each repeater ($395) increases the handset's coverage area by 50 percent.
The KWS300 will retail for $360.
Each system will work with several compatible handsets. The newest is the 5040 Bluetooth handset.
It features distinct ringtones for internal and external calls, a color display, 250-name/number phone book, speakerphone and vibrating ringer.
It will retail for $310.
