By Staff On Jun 9 2003 - 6:00am

Plantronics introduced its first 2.4GHz DSS cordless headset telephone to give consumers hands-free telephony over a landline.

The CT12 joins the 900MHz CT10 in the company's line of hands-free cordless phones. The CT12 phone includes a wearable remote keypad unit, charging base unit, and a convertible headset that can either be worn over the head or around the ear. It also features a noise-canceling microphone and Firefly — a red in-use indicator light at the tip of the headset boom.

Consumers have a choice of 10 ring tones. The phone offers 100 caller ID/memory locations.

The compact remote keypad unit features a backlit LCD to display caller ID/call waiting information, 5.5 hours of talk time, a cloth/belt clip, a 10-number speed dial and volume control.

The CT12 is shipping at a suggested retail of $129.99.
