Visteon Shows HD Radio With Traffic Info Service

LAS VEGAS—Visteon showed at CES a working sample of an OEM HD radio with a double-DIN screen. The unit is unique in that it can display maps with traffic accident reports that are broadcast over HD radio. Visteon said the first of these units will be available in 2005 through at least one car manufacturer. The system requires that local radio stations broadcast the traffic accident reports over their HD Radio signal.

Cerwin Vega Bows 4,500-Watt Subwoofers

LAS VEGAS—Cerwin Vega debuted here new Stroker Pro series subwoofers with 4,500 watt power capacity. The series has a field replacement program for woofer cones. Suggested retail prices for the 12 and 15-inch models are $799 and $899, respectively.
