MB Quart GmBH's new U.S. subsidiary is offering two new series of German-engineered speakers including the component QSC series, a step down from the company's flagship QSD line, and a new slim profile Discus Universal A line (DUA).

The new DUA line is especially designed to fit in newer cars that have side impact protection devices. It includes 6.5-inch, 5.25-inch and 4-inch models with the largest claiming an installation depth of only 1.77 inches, at suggested retail prices from $289.99 to $309.99.

The QSC speakers use drop-forged aluminum midrange baskets, and are available in similar sizes along with a 6.5-inch bass upgrade kit at suggested retail prices from $379.99 per pair to $799.99, said the company.

MB Quart GmbH recently completed the formation of a U.S. subsidiary called MB Quart Corporation to be distributed exclusively by Illusion Audio, here. MB Quart GmbH was placed in receivership in October 2004 by then-owner Rockford Corp. It is currently operating in receivership after adjusting operations and is talking to prospective investment partners, said the company.
