JL Audio launched the C5 series, its first new component speaker line in nine years, which will replace its XR series

In addition the company showed at International CES a new CleanSweep RLC adjustable subwoofer level control.

Also introduced were several new subwoofers and a five-model line of power connection blocks.

Instead of a stamped frame, the new C5 has a cast frame and improved excursion capability and cooling technology. The C5's tweeter is also smaller with better off-axis response, says JL. Pricing for all sizes in both component and coaxial versions at 5.25 inches, 6.5 inches, and 5 inches by 7 inches is $549. Shipping is scheduled for April.

The new CleanSweep RLC subwoofer level control allows control of the subwoofer level from the front seat. The unit is an active preamplifier and can be used with any JL Audio amplifier or with the CleanSweep 441dsp. It is also expected to ship in April at $69.95.

Other JL Audio products include a ZR800-CW 8-inch woofer with 1.75-inch oversized voice coil, which ships in June at $229; nine new Stealthbox models for car models ranging from the BMW X5 to a Scion tC at prices from $549 to $874: and new woofers designed for limited space installation called the 8W1v2, 6W3v3 and 8W3v3, ranging in price from $109 to $198.
