VoIP phone maker Ipevo will ship a new handset for Internet telephony applications to dealers this month.
The St4rt universal handset connects to PCs and Macs via 3.5 mm audio jacks for use with softphones or voice-enabled Internet messaging programs such as AOL Instant Messanger, Yahoo! Voice, Skype and Windows Live Messenger.
The unit offers an LED to display call status and its mouthpiece is curved to minimize echo.
The handset will be sold for $14.99 or in a two-pack for $24.99.
