Verizon Launches Third 4G Phone

BASKING RIDGE, N.J. –

Verizon Wireless expanded
its portfolio of 4G phones
on May 26 with the launch of
its third model, the LG-made
Revolution at $249.99 with
two-year contract.

It follows the March 17
launch of HTC’s ThunderBolt
4G at $249 and the April 28
launch of the Samsung-made
Droid Charge at $299.

The launch brings Verizon
closer to keeping a promise
made at January’s CES
to offer four LTE-equipped
phones in the first half, but
it’s not likely that the fourth
– Motorola’s Bionic — will be
available in the first half as
planned. Recently, Motorola
said its Bionic has been delayed until the summer.

LG’s Revolution is promoted as the first Android smartphone
preloaded with the Neflix application, allowing Netflix
subscribers access to movies and television shows.

The device features Android 2.2, 4.3-inch WVGA 800
by 480 capacitive LCD touchscreen, virtual QWERTY
keyboard, 1GHz single-core Qualcomm Snapdragon
processor, and16GB of embedded memory.
