Northbrook, Ill. — CED awarded Premiere Systems a brand-new 2012 Ford Transit from Bredemann Ford in Glenview, Ill., as part of the distributor’s recent Fall Ball show and produce demo event.

Ken Johnson from Premiere accepted the award from Avery Baron and Paul Thariath of CED, a distributor that is part of the PowerHouse Alliance.

New Berlin, Wisc. – JH Fagan, a full-service distributor and fulfillment center of appliances, electronics and LED lighting, is moving its headquarters to a new, larger facility in Waukesha, Wisc., as of Jan. 2.

The new location will provide a larger warehouse as well as product display space and areas to conduct training seminars. This upgrade will allow the company to better serve their customers with added space to maintain more stocked inventory, as well as areas for customers to view new and featured products, the distributor said.

North Dallas, Texas — Starpower Home Entertainment Systems wowed crowds with the Dallas market debut of Sony’s 84-inch “4K Ultra High-Definition” TV at its Expo customer event last weekend.

The four-store premium A/V and custom-install chain, based here, said it unveiled the very first production models of Sony’s XBR84X900, and sold two of the $25,000 sets during the three-day extravaganza.

Harrisburg, Pa. — D&H Distributing will donate about $40,000 to the American Red Cross to help victims of Superstorm Sandy in the Northeast.

D&H set aside 1 percent of orders placed during its Fall Mid-Atlantic Technology Show Nov. 7 in Hershey, Pa., and 1 percent of orders billed on Nov. 9 via the DandH.com website and the company’s iPhone and iPod Touch apps.

Fremont, Calif. – CE and IT distributor New Age Electronics has launched a digital download service for its retail customers.

The service, dubbed Synnex ESD, after New Age’s parent company, will allow dealers to offer end users a wide range of PC software including games, security and utilities that can be downloaded directly from their websites or in stores.

Synnex ESD initially launched with two retailers and 10 vendors including Microsoft, Symantec and Adobe, and New Age plans to boost the roster to 50 suppliers within six months.

Lawrenceville, Ga. - SED International Holdings reported lower sales and loss in its first quarter ended Sept. 30.

This distributor reported net sales of $126.4 million, a decrease of 18.9 percent from the prior year’s first quarter. SED said sales were negatively impacted by the weak demand for our PC, notebooks and television products which reflects similar declines within the microcomputer industry

Scottsdale, Ariz.  – Ingram Micro’s Consumer Electronics Division (IMCE) has inked a distribution deal with Blaupunkt to sell its car audio and Bluetooth enabled components.

The deal provides access to retailers in the western United States to Blaupunkt’s first class receivers, amps and speaker systems.

The initial product rollout will include 40 specially selected car audio components including iPod/iPhone compatible receivers, Bluetooth-enabled displays, subwoofers, speakers and amps.
