Philadelphia – National majap and CE distributor Almo has promoted corporate marketing exec Pamela Baldwin from director to VP.
Baldwin will continue to oversee all dealer expos, channel events, national sales meetings, new product launches, and advertising and public relations for the company’s corporate, majap/CE, specialty appliance, e-commerce and premium incentive operations.
Northbrook, Ill. — C.E.D. (Consumer Electronics Distributors) has hired Jamie Lokken as account manager as it expands to Minnesota, South Dakota and North Dakota.
Lokken, a CE retail and distribution industry veteran, will develop the new territory for C.E.D. and Power House Alliance, of which the distributor is a member.
C.E.D., based here, was founded in 1992 and has evolved into a premium distributor of top brands and lines in the consumer electronics industry.
Harrisburg, Pa. — An accelerated changeover to touchscreen interfaces can help retailers tap into new sales opportunities in computing, according to D&H Distributing.
The North American CE and IT distributor said it is anticipating a faster upgrade cycle for touch-based notebooks, Ultrabooks and all-in-one PCs as consumers become more inclined to trade up their devices in pursuit of the latest features and apps.
This increased turnover, said D&H co-president Dan Schwab, will translate to incremental profits for dealers.
Scottsdale, Ariz. — Ingram Micro’s Consumer Electronics division (IMCE) has announced a distribution agreement with Gunnar Optiks, the manufacturer of computer eyewear.
The joint partnership between IMCE and Gunnar expands the already extensive and successful IMCE gaming accessory line specifically in the PC gaming segment, according to the distributor.
Philadelphia — National majap and CE distributor Almo has opened a second warehouse at its corporate campus, here, to house luxury appliances and returns.
The new distribution facility features 120,000 square feet of high-bay space and 12 dock doors, raising the company’s total Philadelphia warehousing capacity to 275,000 square feet and 30 truck docks.
