Philadelphia — Almo, the national CE and major appliance distributor, has announced its 2013 Almo Consumer Electronics and Appliance Expo schedule.
Almo will expand on last year’s successful change to a two-day format, bringing the event to new cities throughout the U.S., the distributor said.
These regional tradeshow and training expositions feature hands-on access to the latest products, free skill and technology trainings, doorbuster show specials, one-on-one meetings and peer-networking events.

Edmond, Okla. — Petra Industries will hold its 11th Annual Car Audio Expo on Sunday, April 21, at its headquarters, here.
This year’s Expo is themed “We’re Gonna Leave Our Mark,” and features a full schedule of exciting activities for the 11th annual celebration that promises to be even more memorable than years past, Petra said.
Edmond, Okla. – Petra Industries has signed a distribution partnership with Aton.
Aton’s offers audio distribution solutions for the home, focusing on systems “that keep things simple yet flexible for the custom installer,” Petra said.
Melville, N.Y. – ADI announced the recipients of its 2012 Vendor Partner Awards.
The distributor selected Exacq Technologies as its Vendor of the Year in the United States, and Remee Wire and Cable in Canada. ADI also recognized vendors in the categories of New Product of the Year, Best Sales Support, Rookie Vendor of the Year, and Best Supplier Delivery Performance.
Santa Ana, Calif. — Ingram Micro reported record quarterly sales in the fourth quarter, but slightly lower net and operating incomes.
For the quarter ended Dec. 29, 2012 worldwide sales were $11.38 billion were an all-time quarterly record, increasing 14 percent in U.S. dollars when compared with $9.95 billion in the fourth quarter last year.
Eagan, Minn. - Capitol has added Braven to its growing list of mobile-focused vendors.
Braven is a producer of portable HD Bluetooth speakers with built-in speakerphone that doubles as a mobile phone charger. The company offers a variety of portable speakers and recently introduced a Bluetooth speaker capable of charging an iPad as well as a rugged and waterproof outdoor model during International CES, Capitol said.
Edmond, Okla. — Petra Industries has partnered with Mohu to sell its line of high-definition TV antennas.
Mohu products offer customers a high-definition antenna signal alternative to traditional cable and satellite subscribers without sacrificing high definition capabilities. The antennas are paper-thin and offer free, over-the-air broadcasts while still delivering a true HDTV experience, Petra said.
Harrisburg, Pa. — The Super Bowl blackout in Sunday is a teachable moment, or a reminder about the importance of power protection, according to D&H Distributing.
The distributor said in a release today that the blackout “at Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans proves that no infrastructure is immune to power outages— and the repercussions of even a short spate of downtime.”
Burlington, Mass. - Catalyst AV has entered into agreements to nationally distribute Vanco, ICE Cable and PPC products.
Catalyst AV is a newly-formed nationwide distribution network serving more than 10,000 integrators from 16-locations stateside -- with emphasis on support before, during and after the sale, the group said.
Irvine, Calif. – BenQ America said Friday it has partnered with IT and CE products distributor Synnex to sell BenQ products in the United States.
Synnex VisualSolv Group and its consumer electronics division, New Age Electronics, carry BenQ's entire product line, including projectors, monitors and interactive flat-panel displays (IFPs) ranging in size from 42 to 65 inches.
