A quick look around the just opened Flatbush, Brooklyn location of
Center Valley, Pa. — Olympus introduced Tuesday the compact Stylus XZ-10 as the latest high-end addition to its X-series point-and-shoot camera line.
The camera, which ships in March at a $400 suggested retail, features many of the features in the flagship Stylus XZ-2 but in a more compact body configuration.
The pocket-sized camera has a bright 5x (26-130mm) F1.8 to 2.7 zoom lens, pro-style manual settings, ISO sensitivity to 6,400, a 1/2.3-inch 12-megapixel backlit CMOS sensor and TruePic VI image processing.

Melville, N.Y. – Nikon introduced Tuesday seven CoolPix point-and-shoot cameras, several of which add wireless connectivity and/or super telephoto lenses.
The cameras include the CoolPix P520, AW110, S9500, L820, S31, S5200 and L28.
Lake Success, N.Y. – Canon USA has introduced three additions to its 2013 PowerShot point-and-shoot digital camera line.
Models include the PowerShot Elph 330 HS, Elph 115 IS and A2500.
The Elph 330 HS integrates advanced wireless connectivity and enhanced low-light shooting capability in dimly lit situations.
It also adds Canon’s HS system offering clear images, minimal noise and maximum detail from low-lit conditions.
Melville, N.Y. — Nikon on Wednesday introduced its second-generation mirrorless compact system camera called the Nikon 1 V2, offering a 1,200 fps slow-motion capture mode, a 3-inch 921,000-dot LCD, and a 1.4-million-dot electronic viewfinder.
Nikon’s latest diminutive interchangeable-lens camera packs a 14.2-megapixel CMOS image sensor, boasts a 160 to 6,400 ISO range and records FullHD video in 1080/30p and 1080/60i formats.
Dallas — AT&T will ship six more smartphones for the Christmas selling season, including two Windows Phone 8 smartphones from Nokia, one Windows Phone 8 smartphone from HTC, two HTC Android phones and an LG Android phone.
The carrier also announced plans for a 4G HSPA+ equipped Samsung digital camera.
The introductions follow announcements of plans for three other Android smartphones — the Samsung Galaxy Express, Samsung Rugby Pro and Sony Xperia TL — and the LTE-equipped 10.1-inch Galaxy tablet for sale in the coming weeks.
Cologne, Germany – Casio introduced at Photokina this week a pair of point-and-shoot cameras from its Exilim line.
The EX-H50 and EX-ZR1000 were not listed as yet with U.S. availability and pricing, but both cameras offer a slate of advanced features and long zoom ranges.
The H50 offers 16.1-megapixel resolution and incorporates a 1/2.3-inch square pixel CCD. The camera features a 24x long-zoom f/3.7-8.0 lens starting at a 24mm wide angle and has a 3-inch LCD monitor.
Secaucus, N.J. — Headed into Photokina week in Cologne, Germany, Panasonic formally introduced Monday the Lumix DMC-GH3 Micro Four Thirds mirrorless compact system camera, with more advanced pro-level capabilities.
Valhalla, N.Y. — Fujifilm North America unveiled Monday the latest edition in its X series of digital point-and-shoot cameras: the XF1.
The compact camera joins the recently announced X-E1 mirrorless hybrid camera as the company’s newest entries leading into this week’s Photokina in Cologne, Germany.
The XF1 digital camera, which ships in October at a $500 suggested retail, incorporates the same two-thirds-inch 12-megapixel CMOS sensor employed by the previous announced X-10.
San Diego – Following the just announced range of new Sony Alpha interchangeable lens cameras and camcorders with full-frame image sensors Wednesday was a first-of-its-kind Cyber-shot point-and-shoot full frame compact camera.
The Sony RX1, which ships in November at a $2,800 suggested retail, fits the company’s new 24.3-megapixel frame image sensor inside a compact P&S body, equipped with a 35mm f/2 Zeiss lens and a 9-blade aperture.
Denver – Pentax Ricoh Imaging Americas has introduced the latest in its Q-system design-centric compact system camera line — the Q10, offering a CMOS 12.4-megapixel sensor.
Also introduced was a compatible Q-Mount Pentax 06 15-45mm F2.8 telephoto zoom lens and Adapter Q for Pentax K-mount lenses.
The super-compact and ultra-lightweight Pentax Q10 is said to provide DSLR-quality in a smaller, lighter form factor.
