San Clemente, Calif. - Sonance revamped its Visual Performance series of low-profile micro-trim in-wall and in-ceiling speakers to deliver a major enhancement in audio performance, the company said.
The series, designed to be visually unobtrusive, delivers better off-axis response, consistent frequency response at all listening levels, lower distortion at higher volumes, and deeper bass at higher SPLs, the company said.

New York — Three additions to Navvo Group’s Voco wireless multizone-audio system will ship later this year, said senior VP Tom Gotuzzo.
The products, which were shown during CE Line Shows here, are the V-Bar soundbar for TVs, V-Base TV base, and V-Pack, which is targeted to installers. The V-Base and V-Pack will ship sometime around the CEDIA Expo, which runs from Sept. 25-28, and the V-Bar will ship before the end of the year.
New York – U.K.-based Monitor Audio unveiled an expanded selection of high-end wireless-audio products and its first active soundbar, which also incorporates wireless-audio capabilities.
Monitor’s three networked products, all with built-in Wi-Fi, which debuted at CE Line Shows, here, will ship later this year.
The company already offers a pair of desktop computer speakers that use wireless technology to stream music from a wireless USB dongle plugged into a computer. The WS100 2.0 speaker system is available at a suggested $399/pair.
New York – iLuv Creative Technology turned up at CE Week with its first AC-only Bluetooth speaker and its second docking speaker with Apple’s 8-pin Lightning connector.
The $199-suggested MobiRock Bluetooth speaker, which shipped this week, features a well in which users can place a Bluetooth-equipped smartphone and charge it wirelessly using Qi wireless charging technology. A USB charging port is available for Bluetooth smartphones that lack Qi charging.
New York – AudioXperts, the luxury audio brand launched in mid-2012 by industry veteran Eli Harary, is coming to CE Week to preview its first portable Bluetooth speaker, the EVA BLU.
Petaluma, Calif. – Nortek subsidiary Core Brands plans fall shipments of the first two products in its Korus-branded wireless multi-room audio line, which is intended for do-it-yourselfers.
The $399 V600 and $299 V400 amplified tabletop speakers will be available at KorusSound.com and in retail outlets this fall, said the company, which markets multiple custom-install brands.
Phoenixville, Pa. — Direct-to-consumer audio company Wren Audio has begun offering a tabletop Wi-Fi speaker equipped with DTS’s Play-Fi technology to stream music from connected Android phones and PCs.
The Wren V5PF is available for $399 at Wrensound.com with real bamboo or rosewood finish.
With Play-Fi technology, consumers can create a multizone, multi-room wireless audio system with a mix of up to eight wireless speakers that play simultaneously in a house.
Los Angeles — Soundfreaq is launching its first two docking speakers with eight-pin Lightning connector to charge and play back music from Apple’s latest generation of mobile iOS devices.
Both models, however, also play music from a wide range of mobile devices via embedded Bluetooth and an Apple-certified USB port, which enables a cable connection to older Apple devices’ 30-pin connector.
