Provo, Utah – Braven is expanding its selection of portable Bluetooth speakers again with the launch of the $169 Braven 710, which becomes the company’s first Bluetooth speaker with nearfield communication (NFC), second with IPX5 water resistance, and fourth with aptX decoding.
Braven’s Bluetooth lineup spans the price range from a suggested $89 to $299.

Natick, Mass. - Genelec has rolled out a series of four active speakers and two active subwoofers, all with curved, rounded designs.
The four active G series speakers are the $395-each G1, $695-each G2, $995 G3, and $1,595 G4. All are two-way bi-amplified models that can be bookshelf or stand mounted. The two matching subwoofers in the F series are the $795 6.5-inch F1 and $1,795 8-inch F2. All are available in white, and the G1 is also available in black.
Most of the products are additions to the line, not replacements, said U.S. marketing director Will Eggleston.

The $219-everyday Dash 7, a flat speaker that Soundmatters called a soundbar, delivers higher output, deeper bass and flatter frequency response than the other stereo Bluetooth speakers in the company’s FoxL portable-speaker series, said marketing VP Lee Adams.

The NX-P100 is a splash-proof model that features nearfield communications (NFC) pairing and streams the AAC and AptX codecs.
It joins the $179 PDX-B11, which lacks NFC and AptX streaming.
New York – Braven and Jabra have expanded their portable Bluetooth speaker selections in a market that has grown at triple-digit percentage rates in units and dollars so far this year.
NPD Group’s Retail Tracking Service found retail-level unit sales of Bluetooth-only speakers, excluding Bluetooth-equipped speakers with docking pins, rose 379 percent for the year through August on a dollar gain of 213 percent.
New York — Meridian has developed a component that makes it practical to integrate Meridian’s active in-room and in-wall DSP speakers into multi-room audio and home-control systems from other brands.
The component is the $1,500 Meridian Distributor 3, a multi-room audio source switcher to connect central music sources to Meridian’s active in-room and in-wall DSP speakers in up to three zones.
