McLoughlin To Succeed Straberg As Electrolux CEO

STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN — Keith McLoughlin will succeed Hans Straberg as president/CEO of Electrolux, effective Jan. 1.

McLoughlin joined Electrolux from Du- Pont in 2003 as president/CEO of the North America division and last year was promoted to COO of the company, with responsibility for global R&D, manufacturing and purchasing.

NEW YORK — Haier America has introduced a line of built-in dual drawer refrigerators that were designed with today’s integrated kitchens in mind.

Available in stainless steel, white and black finishes, the units have two refrigeration drawers with a total of 5.4 cubic feet of capacity and an easy-to-clean electronic temperature touch-control panel. In addition, the drawers’ divider system easily adjusts with one hand to securely hold different-sized items such as fruits and vegetables, cheeses and beverages.

SAN ANTONIO — Friedrich Air Conditioning has moved its headquarters into 22,000 square feet of space at the Union Square II Building at 10001 Reunion Place, here, after almost 40 years at 4200 Pan Am Expressway.

The move included about 90 employees in management, accounting, marketing and sales, product management, engineering, information systems, credit, customer service, human resources and production management.

MEMPHIS, TENN. — Electrolux plans to open a new manufacturing complex for cooking products here in 2012.

The 700,000-square-foot facility represents an investment of more than $190 million and will produce built-in and specialty cooking appliances under the Electrolux, Electrolux Icon and Frigidaire brands.

Products will include drop-in/slide-in ranges, wall ovens, specialty freestanding ranges and cooktops.

BENTON HARBOR, MICH. — Whirlpool will visit dealers in 70 cities beginning this month as part of a seven-week training program for sales associates.

The initiative is designed to train dealers’ sales teams on the key selling points of the company’s latest cooking, refrigeration, kitchen-cleanup and laundry innovations.
