Size matters to Samsung Electronics.
The brown- and white-goods manufacturer has expanded its laundry and refrigeration lines with new models that meet or exceed the industry's largest capacities within their class.
The products, which are already on the sales floors at Best Buy and Lowe's, were highlighted here at a Samsung Holiday in July showcase last month.
Haier America has introduced a stackable washer and dryer unit that provides apartment and condo dwellers with many of the same features found in full-size laundry products.
At the standard 24 inches wide by 24 inches deep, the HBF1055TVE washer offers a 1,000 rpm spin speed and can be stacked with the HDY6-1 electric dryer to create one unit that can be stacked in a closet or placed separately side by side.
LG Electronics and Samsung Electronics ranked highest in customer satisfaction for washers and dryers, respectively, according to a new study by J.D. Power and Associates.
LG copped kudos for clothes washers for the third consecutive year in the firm's 2008 Laundry Appliances Study, while Samsung ranked highest among all clothes dryer manufacturers.
Whirlpool's Maytag division is emphasizing the "commercial-grade elements and technology" found in its residential laundry products as it promotes its Performance, Bravos, Centennial and Epic Z series of washers and dryers.
"To offer the highest quality technology to our residential consumers, we incorporate commercial-grade components. The result is Maytag-brand appliances are built to last," said Ellen Taaffe, Maytag mass brands VP, at a media event here last month.
