NEW YORK — SiriusXM satellite radio plans spring availability of its second-generation universal tuner for connection to aftermarket car audio head units available from multiple aftermarket supplers.

The new SXV200V1 SiriusXM Connect Vehicle Tuner at a suggested $79.99 will deliver the expanded channel lineup of the broadcaster’s 2.0 satellite service and continues to offer the convenience features of its predecessor, including iTunes tagging and ability to pause, rewind and replay up to 30 minutes of live programming. Other features that continue include Song Alert, Artist Alert and Game Alert.

The new and original SiriusXM universal tuner allows for a standardized one-cable connection to head units from multiple suppliers. Previously, installations required addon adapters for different brands of heads and multiple wiring connections.

Suppliers with units compatible with the tuner include Advent, Alpine, Audiovox, Clarion, Dual, Sony, JVC and Kenwood.
