Last week I blogged about the so-called return of vinyl. The AP has a story today (featured on CNN.com) reporting that some CE retailers, such as Best Buy and Fred Meyer, are testing out the LP format in some of their stores.
From the story:
“But it’s not just about the sound. Audiophiles say they also want the format’s overall experience — the sensory experience of putting the needle on the record, the feeling of side A and side B and the joy of lingering over the liner notes.”
This may be true, but those are going to have to be some kick-ass liner notes to get users to choose them over an MP3 format.
