Made In The USA Majaps
Electrolux’s construction of new manufacturing and research facilities in Tennessee, and LG’s just-opened R&D center in Illinois, are two more examples of the majap industry’s growing re-investment in America.
After moving U.S. production to Mexico, Canada, China and other foreign shores, majap makers led by GE, Haier, Bosch, LG and Electrolux are learning, as GE Appliances president Jim Campbell pointed out, that this country’s better-educated workforce and superior infrastructure, together with union concessions, tax incentives and higher international freight costs, are making manufacturing here cost-effective again.
And while domestic production can create much-need jobs and competitively priced products, it also generates goodwill and pride, which can translate into increased sales of Made-In-America majaps.

This is great news for the appliance industry.
It’s interesting to see LG moving some of its operations to the states.
