IBM has been working on a super computer that can win at “Jeopardy,” and I have a strong feeling this technological development might save the world.

The computer, called Watson, will take on “Jeopardy” champions Ken Jennings, who won a record 74 consecutive “Jeopardy!” games, and Brad Rutter, who won a record of nearly $3.3 million in prize money, according to an Associated Press article.

I suppose there are benefits to creating such a computer. However, from my standpoint, the most useful aspect is it will focus the world’s supercomputers on winning game shows instead of over throwing humanity.

If “Terminator,” “Westworld” and “2001: A Space Odyssey” have taught us nothing, and they haven’t, it’s that computers and robots simply can’t wait for the chance to kill or enslave us.

However, if my laptop is happily ensconced on my couch watching TV, it will quickly lose interest in such a difficult task and instead start shouting out for Vana White to turn over the letter E.
