If You Give a Mouse an Apple

October 13, 2009

The New York Times has an article about Disney’s planned overhaul of its retail stores with the help of Apple’s Steve Jobs.

“It’s time to take risks,” [Jim Fielding, president of Disney stores Worldwide] said he told [Disney board members]. “When consumers are ready to spend again, we will be ready.”

Despite the sinking economy, Disney clearly isn’t alone in this sentiment, as evidenced in such CE retailers as hhgregg and its continuing expansion or Starpower, which received a TWICE Excellence in Retailing Award for having a similar attitude toward growth.
