Target’s Online Photo Expansion Revealed

May 17, 2007

Both Kodak and Shutterfly have announced partnerships with Target to provide the retailer with online digital imaging services.

The enterprising folks at the Consumerist got their hands on an internal Target newsletter that reveals a tiny bit more of the company’s plan, which include the phasing out of its Yahoo! Photo service on September 20. At that point, Target customers who want to continue using the retailer for prints can have their images migrated to Kodak Gallery, Shutterfly or Flickr.

Yahoo! Photos is offering its members the ability to migrate to Snapfish and Photobucket as well, but those two services have not, as yet, announced plans to integrate with the Target Web site. From the looks of the newsletter, they’re not apart of the new Target site. At least not yet.
