A World Lit Only By Fire

May 16, 2008

One in five households has never used email, according to Parks Associates.

Can you imagine life without email? I think it would look something like this.

Parks also learned that 20 million households, or 18 percent of all U.S. homes, are without Internet access. Personally, I’d lose the TV before I ditched my cable modem.

Of those languishing without access to YouTube and Facebook and TWICE.com, only seven percent planned on jumping onto the information super highway in the next 12 months.

The CE industry is understandably enthralled by early adopters, but there is a whole mess of people either uninterested in technology or unable to avail themselves to it.
