Servicing the Customer

December 4, 2007

Talk about great moments in customer service. Linksys got into a bit of hot water recently when the “help” line listed in one of its product manuals directed customers to an adult chat line.

Really, the jokes write themselves.

It turns out the router in question was a Black Friday special for Circuit City, shipped from leftover models in India, according to DSLReports.com. The help line/adult chat number, when dialed in India, actually directed consumers to Linksys tech support. It’s only in America that you get the dirty talk. Linksys is apparently working on a solution.

Frankly, I’d say this would be a perfect opportunity for Linksys to do some re-branding of their tech support line. And since the jokes can write themselves: Insert Your Joke here!
