Fast Fingers Yield Big Prizes In Some Circles …
April 23, 2007

Thirteen-year-old Morgan Pozgar of Claysburg, Pa., has been named the LG National Texting Champion. After beating out more than 300 fellow competitors, Morgan was awarded $25,000 cash to recognize her “talent” (i.e. her ability to thumb-type a phrase from “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” faster than any of her opponents.)

Shannon Pozgar, the mother who actually brought her child across state lines to participate in this competition, said of her daughter’s victory, "I am so proud of Morgan right now. She's such a great kid and deserves this so much.”

Practice clearly pays off. Morgan said that she sends “over 4,000 texts every month.” Maybe they need the $25,000 to pay off the phone bill …
