Farnsworth's Fusion Reactor
August 20, 2008

Everyone in the CE industry knows Philo T. Farnsworth invented the television, but I had no idea he also is credited with creating the home fusion reactor.

I swear.

Perhaps that is why my mom thought I would get radiation sickness if I sat too close to our TV set.

A Richmond, Va. inventor with his Farnsworth-inspired home fusion. reactor.

Check out the video in the link above about the guy and his wife who have emulated Philo and are part of a group of home-based inventors who build their own fusion reactors. While I’m not sure this will ever solve our energy needs, there is a pretty good chance they will not suffer the same fate as Philo did with RCA.
