LOS ANGELES – Startup Soundfreaq
is preparing to launch its second iPod/
iPhone-docking speaker system, this
one adding iPad-docking capability,
USB–device charging, composite video
output, and AC/DC operation.
The company’s first system, the Sound
Platform, became available late last year
through Target, Amazon and the company’s
website. The second model, the
Sound Step, is due in Target stores this
spring at $149.
Both models feature Bluetooth stereo
streaming, 3.5mm aux input and FM tuner.
The new speaker, however, uses an
app to control the tuner. Other features
of the new model include 2.1 speaker
system, soundfield widening processor,
lithium-ion battery with more than
six-hour battery life, and ability to charge
connected USB rated at up to 2.5 volts.
