More Panelists Signed For TWICE/CEA Ultra HD Event

New York – More panelists and companies have signed on for the Ultra HD Conference at CES Unveiled New York, to be held 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Nov. 12, at the Metropolitan Pavilion, 125 West 18th Street, here.

The half-day session, coordinated by the editors of TWICE and the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), will set the stage for CEA’s annual CES Unveiled program later that afternoon.

Three panel discussions will be offered covering the hardware development, content production and retailing of Ultra HDTV.

Panel One, “Ultra HD: An evolution or a revolution?”, will include executives from LG, Sony, Toshiba (Scott Ramirez, marketing VP), market analysts, and ISF display calibration expert Kevin Miller to discuss the rollout of products and services to date, the prospects for the future, and the obstacles that still need to be overcome on the way to achieving mass-market acceptance.

Panel Two, “Native Ultra HD Content: Where’s The Beef?”, will discuss developments in the production and delivery of native Ultra High-Definition TV content to the home today and what’s coming in the future. Guests will include members of the ATSC, Digital Entertainment Group, and broadcast and distribution companies to discuss the investments, technologies, and stumbling blocks associated with upgrading systems and networks for the delivery of native Ultra HD.

Panel Three, “Taking Ultra HD To Retail”, will bring together several leading retailers, including Tom Campbell of Video & Audio Center in Los Angeles and Robert Zohn proprietor of Value Electronics in Scarsdale, N.Y., as well as Tamaryn Pratt, principal of market analyst Quixel Research, and a leading TV manufacturer to address what needs to be done to make consumers better aware of Ultra HDTV, what’s happened so far, and what more is needed on the frontlines.

The program will also offer keynote speeches with CEA market research updates and an executive from LG Electronics to discuss the steps being taken to transition its line for early adopters to the mass market.

Manufacturers will offer samples of some of their new offerings to help attendees see the difference for themselves.

The program is open to members of the working press and other interested parties looking to form and join partnerships to advance and promote the Ultra HD ecosystem.

Admission is $249. Credentialed working press members will be admitted at no charge. CES Unveiled New York exhibitors and CEA members are eligible for a registration discount.
