Boston — Microsoft will officially roll out Windows Blue, the first major update to Windows 8, with a preview on June 26.
Dubbed Windows 8.1, the actual update will be free to Windows 8 and RT owners and will be available via the Microsoft Store sometime later this year.
The news was released by Tami Reller, Microsoft’s chief marketing officer and chief financial officer of the Windows division, at the JP Morgan Technology, Media & Telecom Conference being held here.
Reller did not offer any details on what the update will contain.
