Warren, N.J. – No-contract wireless brand Virgin Mobile expanded its selection of LTE phones to five with the addition of its first LTE-equipped smartphone from LG.
The phone is the LG Optimus F3, which expands Virgin’s selection of LG phones to three from two.
The smartphone is available for $179 with Beyond Talk monthly no-contract plans, which offer unlimited data and messaging starting at $35 per month.
The Android 4.1.2 phone features 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, 4-inch IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 2, 5-megapixel autofocus rear-facing camera with LED flash and 1080p video capture, VGA front-facing camera, Wi-Fi Direct file sharing, DLNA to send media via Wi-Fi to DLNA-enabled devices, and 2,460 mAh battery with up to 16 hours of talk time.
An LED home button with color-coded alerts signify notifications such as missed events, incoming calls or incoming texts.
The phone also features QSlide 2.0 multitasking, which lets users open two apps simultaneously and change the size, position and transparency of the apps on the screen. The phone also features QuickMemo, which lets people use their fingertip to handwrite notes on pictures and screenshots for sharing.
Quick Translator lets users translate words and phrases from 44 different languages into 64 native languages.
Android Beam allows for quick Bluetooth sharing of content by tapping the phone on other devices equipped with near-field communications (NFC). The phone is also compatible with NFC-equipped LG Tag+ tags, which activate preset phone profiles.
Camera features include Beauty Shot, which enhances the appearance of the subject; Cheese Shot, which lets users take a voice-activated photo when the subject says “cheese;” and Panorama Shot.
