Lawndale, Calif. — Video & Audio Center (VAC), the Southern California specialty A/V chain, “packed the house” this past weekend with an LG Kick Off to College Football event.
According to the chain’s corporate director Tom Campbell, the seasonal promotion offered special savings on LG products and gave customers a chance to win season tickets to the local USC Trojans college gridiron team. LG is also the official electronics partner of the Trojans.
On hand for the event was former Trojan quarterback Rodney Peete, who signed autographs and posed for photos with customers.
VAC also used the occasion to demonstrate and sell the latest LG Ultra High-Definition and OLED TV models, Campbell said.
TV, radio and print ads in the Los Angeles Times helped drive standing-room-only traffic, he noted, and added that the next-generation TVs and premium audio contributed to one of the best third quarters in the retailer’s 31 years in business.
This TWICE webinar, hosted by senior editor Alan Wolf, will take a look at what may be the hottest CE products at retail that will be sold during the all-important fourth quarter. Top technologies, market strategies and industry trends will be discussed with industry analysts and executives.
