LAS VEGAS — Velocity Micro will introduce three new products this week, here.
The new models are the Cruz D610 and Q610 10-inch tablets and the Edge Mini computer.
The Cruz D610 will ship late in the first quarter; pricing has not been announced. It is being positioned as an ultra-thin tablet with a thickness of 8.7mm.
It is powered by a Cortex A9 dual-core 1.5GHz process and will run on Android 4.0. It comes with 1GB of DDR3 memory, with 8GB of storage. It comes preloaded with Adobe Flash 11.1, and has a front-facing camera with about five hours of battery life. It also has MicroUSB, MiniHDMI and MicroSD ports.
The Q610 is a higher-end tablet that is slightly thicker to contain a more powerful quad-core1.5GHz processor. It also runs on the latest Android 4.1 and can be equipped with either 1GB or 2GB of DDR3 RAM. It will have three internal storage capacities: 16GB, 32GB and 64GB.
The Q610 adds a rear facing 2-megapixel camera and has the same battery life as the D610. It will also ship late in the first quarter; pricing has not been set.
The Edge Mini is a palm-size, full function computer. It measures 4 inches by 4 inches and 1.5 inches thick. The Mini has a third-generation Intel Core processor with integrated Intel HD4000 graphics and can be installed with either Windows 7 home premium or Windows 8.
There is 16GB of DDR3 memory and 60GB of storage to start with an option for more. It also has dual HD video outputs and 802.11n and Bluetooth wireless connectivity. There are mounting brackets to secure it to the rear of a monitor.
The starting price is $599; it just started shipping.
