URC Control Systems Add Sonos Integration

Harrison, N.Y. — URC has integrated control of current and previous-generation Sonos wireless multi-room audio music products with its Total Control home-control system via a software module developed by Extra Vegetables.

Full control of Sonos products, including Sonos’s PlayBar soundbar/wireless music system, is available with feedback through URC’s Total Control keypads, remotes, touchscreens and apps. From these devices, users can select all music services and Internet radio stations supported by Sonos as well as access PC-stored music libraries. Playlists and music-stream tracks can be recalled from URC’s TKP-100 touchscreen and TRC-780 wand-style remote for commercial applications.

URC’s expandable home-control system controls home theaters, A/V components, lighting, HVAC (thermostat), window shades, security cameras and the like.

The software module was developed independently by Extra Vegetables with the assistance of URC and is available for purchase from the Extra Vegetables website. It is supported by Extra Vegetables under the terms of their software license, which can be viewed under the dealer section at ExtraVegetables.com.

Extra Vegetables sells integration software for Control4 and URC home-automation systems to add system control over third-party products. The company is U.K.-based but has a facility in New Jersey.

The new software module will be shown during the CEDIA Expo at the Extra Vegetables and URC booths.
