Bellevue, Wash. – T-Mobile unveiled pricing and availability dates for several smartphones and tablets that it said it would offer in the coming weeks.
The announcements include expected Nov. 14 availability of Samsung’s cellular-equipped Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 and expected Nov. 14 availability of T-Mobile’s first Windows Phone 8 smartphones, the Nokia Lumia 810 and Windows Phone 8X by HTC.
T-Mobile also announced pricing on a locked version of Google’s new LG-made Nexus smartphone, the Nexus 4 with Android 4.2 OS.
Here are the details:
Windows phones: With a Classic rate plan, the Lumia 810 will be priced at $149 after a $50 mail-in-rebate card with a two-year service agreement. When activated with a lower priced Value plan, the phone’s price goes to $ 99 plus 20 monthly payments of $20 on the carrier’s installment plan with two-year commitment.
HTC’s Windows Phone 8X, available on the same day, is priced at $199 with Classic rate plan after a $50 mail-in-rebate card, and with a Value plan, the price is $149 up front plus $20 per month for 20 months.
Google’s Nexus 4: The next-generation Google-brand phone will be available Oct. 29 on the GooglePlay store at $299 for the unlocked 8GB model and $349 for the unlocked 16GB model. A day later, the 16GB version will be available locked through select T-Mobile retail stores and T-Mobile’s web site at $199 with two-year service agreement on a Classic plan. Activated on a lower price Value plan, the phone will cost $199 up front, plus 20 equal payments of $20/month with two year service agreement.
Availability through T-Mobile’s indirect retailers wasn’t announced.
The Nexus 4 features T-Mobile’s HSPA+42 4G technology.
Google Nexus 7 tablet: T-Mobile said it wouldn’t itself offer the cellular-equipped version of Google’s Nexus 7 7-inch tablet, but the carrier said Google would offer the 32GB HSPA+ tablet through Google Play on Nov. 5. Google also announced that an unlocked version of the tablet would be available Nov. 13 through Google Play at $299.The unlocked version operates in more than 200 GSM/HSPA+ networks worldwide, including AT&T in the U.S.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1: The tablet is expected to be available Nov. 14 in online and retail outlets at $349 after a $50 mail-in rebate and two-year service agreement on a Classic data plan.
Activated on a lower cost Value Mobile Broadband Plan, the phone will cost $199 up front plus 20 monthly payments of $15/month.
The Android 4.0 tablet features 1.5GHz dual-core processor and 4G HSPA+42 cellular technology. An LTE version will be available for AT&T and Sprint. A Wi-Fi-only version of the tablet is already available in stores.
