Bellevue, Wash. — T-Mobile became the first of the big four carriers to announce a price and specific availability date for Samsung’s Galaxy Note 3 phablet and Galaxy Gear smart watch.
For the T-Mobile network, the devices will be available nationwide Oct. 2, the carrier said early this morning. The Galaxy Note 3 will be available for a down payment of $199, plus 24 equal monthly device payments of $21, for a total of $703 with the carrier’s no-contract Simple Choice Plan. The Galaxy Gear will cost $299.
The 5.7-inch LTE-equipped phablet was launched at Berlin’s IFA show along with the 2014 edition of the Note 10.1 tablet.
T-Mobile offers 4G LTE in 116 metro areas as of early August, reaching 167 million people. The carrier’s goal is to reach 200 million people by the end of the year.
