Bellevue, Wash. – T-Mobile will join Sprint in offering Samsung’s Galaxy Note II smartphone/tablet hybrid, which will be T-Mobile’s first smartphone shipping with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
With 5.5-inch HD Super AMOLED touchscreen, the Note II will sport the largest screen in T-Mobile’s smartphone portfolio, and it will be T-Mobile’s first device with quad-core processor.
The device, announced by Samsung in September, features 4G HSPA+42 technology, Samsung’s 1.6GHz quad-core Exynos processor, and T-Mobile Wi-Fi calling to place voice calls over Wi-Fi when cellular signal is low or lost. It also features Samsung’s SAFE (Samsung Approved for Enterprise) certification, allowing for protected syncing of corporate email, calendars, contacts and corporate information. The device’s 3100mAh battery delivers up to 15 hours of talk time.
The Note II will be available in gray and white through T-Mobile retail stores, select national retailers and dealers, and online via www.T-Mobile.com in the coming weeks at a price that wasn’t announced.
T-Mobile already sells the device’s predecessor, the Galaxy Note, launched in early August with Android 4.0 device and 5.3-inch HD touchscreen at $249 with a Classic voice and data plan.
This TWICE webinar, hosted by senior editor Alan Wolf, will take a look at what may be the hottest CE products at retail that will be sold during the all-important fourth quarter. Top technologies, market strategies and industry trends will be discussed with industry analysts and executives.
