Swann Stealthily Ships HD RemoteCam

Santa Fe Springs, Calif. — Swann Security introduced Monday the HD RemoteCam — a security camera designed to resemble a car remote with key chain.

The latest version of the Swann Security RemoteCam ($69.99 suggested retail) steps up to HD resolution and allows users to discreetly record high-definition videos, photos and audio at the push of a button and then share the images online.

The camera features a built-in microphone and a fixed-focus lens that captures color HD (1,280 by 720p) AVI video as well as still photos (1,600 by 1,200 pixels).

Photos are recorded with a quick press of the button, while videos are captured by pressing and holding the button.

HD RemoteCam will begin shooting video and continue to do so until the user presses the button again, the company said.

An LED light lets users know they’ve turned on the power, but the light will turn off while recording in order to complement the stealth design.

The HD RemoteCam is equipped with a 2GB MicroSD card to store up to 20 minutes of video.

Videos and photos can be transferred to a computer via a USB cable and then shared online.

The USB cable also doubles as a charger, and once fully charged, the HD RemoteCam’s built-in battery offers 60 minutes of recording time.

Swann said the HD RemoteCam is “perfect for capturing life on the move,” and is useful for lawyers, law enforcement, mystery shoppers, covert surveillance or YouTube fun.

It’s available at Amazon, Fry’s, TigerDirect and B&H Photo Video stores nationwide.
