North Dallas, Texas — Starpower Home Entertainment Systems wowed crowds with the Dallas market debut of Sony’s 84-inch “4K Ultra High-Definition” TV at its Expo customer event last weekend.

The four-store premium A/V and custom-install chain, based here, said it unveiled the very first production models of Sony’s XBR84X900, and sold two of the $25,000 sets during the three-day extravaganza.

Attending the event was football Hall of Famer Tony Dorsett, the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders and 3,000 customers, some of whom queued up overnight around Starpower’s flagship store, which is undergoing a multimillion dollar remodel.

The chain’s annual Expos showcase new and forthcoming products, and offer consumers discounts and special offers. Last weekend’s Expo also drew 30 manufacturers’ reps and D-Box’s experience trailer.

“The response was overwhelming,” chairman Daniel Pidgeon told TWICE in an email. “Starpower had an incredible weekend.”

He added, “It restores faith that there is still a willing customer for the retailers that consumers want to do business with.”
