Sprint Opens Framily, Easy Pay Plans To Best Buy

Overland Park, Kan. – Sprint enlisted Best Buy as its first national retailer and first CE retailer to offer its Framily rate plan and EasyPay installment-payment plan.

Beginning April 4, consumers will be able to sign up for the Sprint Framily Plan and Easy Pay plan at Best Buy locations nationwide, joining Sprint-owned stores, independently operated Sprint-branded stores, wireless specialists and Sprint’s website.

“Best Buy is the first CE retailer to offer the Sprint Framily plans as well as Easy Pay,” a Best Buy spokesperson said.” This is the only installment billing plan available at Best Buy at this time.”

The chain also announced an April 4- 13 promotion in which consumers signing up for Sprint Framily and who purchase a wireless phone through Sprint Easy Pay will be eligible to get a $100 Best Buy gift card.

The Sprint Framily Plan, available to new and existing customers, lets subscribers add up to 10 lines to a group of friends and family, with everyone’s pricing reduced as more members join the group. For one line, new Sprint customers pay $55/ month for unlimited talk, text and 1GB of data. For each additional customer in a Framily group, the cost per person goes down $5/month up to a maximum monthly discount of $30/line. A group of at least seven people will get unlimited talk, text and 1GB of data for $25/month per line. Members share savings but can be billed separately.

To be eligible for the plan, new Sprint subscribers must buy an eligible wireless phone at full retail price or pay in 24 monthly installments through the Sprint Easy Pay program.

To get on a Framily plan, an existing Sprint subscribers with a subsidized phone purchased with a service contract phone must pay an additional $15/ month per line for service until his line is upgrade-eligible.
