Dallas – Samsung is launching a 4G LTE version of its Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 through Verizon starting Aug. 17 at $349.
In April, Samsung unveiled two Wi-Fi-only Galaxy Tab 2 models consisting of a10.1-inch model and a 7-inch model at $399 and $249, respectively.
All Tab 2 tablets feature the Android 4.0 OS.
The $349 LTE version will access a Verizon 4G LTE network that covers more than 75 percent of the U.S. population and will soon be available in more than 400 markets nationwide, the carrier said.
The Galaxy Tab 2 features 3.2-megapixel rear-facing camera, VGA front-facing camera for video chat, 1.2 GHz dual-core application processor, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, 8GB internal memory and support for 64GB MicroSD cards.
It is preloaded with such apps as Netflix and Samsung’s Media Hub for watching movies and TV shows, Amazon’s Kindle app, and a Peel Smart Remote app that turns the Galaxy Tab 2 into a universal remote.
The Galaxy Tab 2 is a Samsung Approved For Enterprise device with AES-256 bit encryption, enhanced support for Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync, and support for VPN and mobile device management (MDM) solutions.
The tablet also features a Polaris Office app to create and edit documents in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe PDF, ZIP and other formats.
