Phoenix — ProSource, the merchandising group for independent CE specialty retailers, custom installers and system integrators, held its annual Power Dealer Meeting here last week.
The event brought together the group’s largest integrators and select vendors for three days of education, idea exchange, networking and entertainment.
Both newcomers and veteran attendees lauded the gathering, which included members of ProSource’s two sister groups: Home Entertainment Source (HES) and the Progressive Retailers Organization (PRO Group).
“It’s always worth the trip — sharing new ideas, collaborating and being with some of the best in the industry,” said Shawn Hansson of Logic Integration, who gave a presentation on creating company-wide processes. “[ProSource] truly puts on a great event.”
Added Russ Radke of Premiere Music and Film Systems: “This was my first Power Dealer Meeting and I was very impressed with the organization of the event and the participation by the vendors. The best part was networking with the best in our industry. I will definitely be attending next year.”
With the residential CE market picking up steam, attendees also found value in a presentation on hiring and managing by guest speaker Dan Abramson of Staff Dynamics, while roundtable discussions on everything from closing a project and maintenance agreements to reoccurring revenue also proved to be big hits with members, the group said.
ProSource dealers also held one-on-one business meetings with high-level managers from various ProSource vendor partners and, as an added bonus, enjoyed a Chicago Cubs/Arizona Diamondbacks game while networking with peers.
“ProSource is building a lot of momentum with meetings like these and others we have hosted over the last several months, as evidenced by the fact that we are consistently picking up more and more key integrators from around the country,” said ProSource executive VP Jim Ristow. “The Power Dealer Meeting was yet another way for us to bring together the biggest and most talented integrators around for an incredible idea exchange.”
