Denver — New wired and wireless networking products launched by Pakedge here at the CEDIA Expo include the S24AV fully managed 24-port gigabit switch, which is designed for custom installation and media streaming with enterprise-grade reliability, the company said.
A new style of metal 1U-rack chassis complements A/V installs and entertainment systems, the company said.
Also new is the W7 dual-band concurrent wireless access point, which offers simultaneous 2.4GHz and 5GHz operation with technologies designed to deliver the best possible wireless performance for streaming video, music and VoIP applications, the company said. The TruStream suite of features lets the device recognize and categorize network traffic to ensure high-priority traffic such as video, music and VoIP are given precedence. Smartwav technology learns about the WAP’s wireless environment so it can dynamically direct its signal toward a client device and around potential sources of interference such as thick walls and away from microwaves, the company added.
Smartwav technology in the WAP also lets the device produce a more powerful wireless signal with greater coverage and less power use. Four Smartwav antennas synchronize waveforms to further increase range. Band-steering functionality automatically pushes client devices from the 2.4GHz band to the less-congested 5GHz band.
The W7 features an aluminum chassis to protect it from interference and provides efficient cooling in tight spaces.
The C36 macrocell wireless access point controller is said to make it easier to configure and manage every wireless access point in a large network via automated configuration tools. It features styling to complement A/V installs and entertainment systems.
The macrocell enables seamless handoffs between wireless access points. It automatically selects the best channels for each connected WAP. It can be set up via a web-based interface.
Pricing and ships dates of the new products were unavailable at press time.
