Chicago — Opalum, the Scandinavian supplier of thin on-wall active speakers, appointed a sales director and a marketing director to “bring a tighter focus on customer relations and quality to our sales efforts,” president Ulrik Sindberg announced.
Industry veteran Aldo Filippelli was tapped as sales director to lead the development and execution of the company’s U.S. sales efforts, and Crystal McKinney was named marketing director to oversee the company’s marketing strategy.
Filippelli has 28 years of audio-industry experience, most recently as executive director of MK Sound USA. He was also VP of Dynaudio North America, which he founded to manage Dynaudio’s sales and brand promotion.
McKinney held recent positions as project engineer and account manager with duties that included marketing, business development and sales.
Opalum’s powered on-wall speakers are driven by a Hub component that provides 24-volt power and digital audio to the speakers through standard speaker wire. Its latest product, the $3,999/pair flagship Flow 4810, packs 48 1-inch drivers and 120-watt Class D triamplification in each of two speakers.
The price includes the Hub.
