Melville, N.Y. – Nikon introduced Thursday three additions to the Coolpix point-&-shoot camera family.

The new models include: the advanced Coolpix P7800 ($549 suggested retail), which features full manual controls and a new electronic viewfinder; a ultra-compact and stylish Coolpix S02 ($179) and the LD-1000 ($99) LED movie light attachment for Coolpix and Nikon 1 compact system cameras.

Both Nikon cameras will go on sale this month and the LED movie lamp will drop in October.

The P7800 is billed as an advanced point-&-shoot with a large 1/1.7-inch, 12.2-megapixel BSI CMOS sensor with strong low-light performance that is aided by a fast 7.1x glass zoom lens (f/2.0-4.0) and vibration reduction.

The P7800 includes a high-resolution electronic viewfinder, 3-inch Vari-angle LCD, FullHD 1080p HD video capture with stereo sound, up to 8fps continuous shooting, full manual controls and RAW-format shooting options for advanced shooters

The camera also includes Wi-Fi connectivity using the WU-1a Wireless Mobile Adapter

The Coolpix S02 is billed as an ultra-small and stylish compact camera designed for on-the-go readiness.

It includes a 13.2-megapixel CMOS sensor and 3x optical zoom, FullHD 1080p video capture, 2.7-inch touchscreen LCD, and scene and creative shooting modes. It will be offered in a choice of silver, white, pink and blue.

The LD-1000 LED Movie Light is lightweight and compact. It features a built-in diffusion panel, enabling even exposure and smooth textures with support for continuous lighting, ideal for shooting video. The light will be available in a choice of white or black colors.
