City of Industry, Calif. — Newegg.com, the country’s leading CE-specific e-tailer, has launched a six-part, three-month-long back-to-school promotion beginning today.
Its “Back-to-School: Gear to Rule” campaign, running now through Sept. 16, features discounts on and giveaways of school-related technology products, with each phase of the promotion focusing on a different category or theme.
The effort kicks off with “Blueprint to Success,” which features more than 100 deals on back-to-school essentials, and will be followed later this month by “Dominate your Headquarters,” which focuses on “must-have” items for college dorms such as TVs, monitors, printers and compact refrigerators.
In August, “Computing Power-Ups” and “The Art of DIY” will spotlight desktop and laptop PCs, software, hard drives, accessories and computer components, followed by “Roadtrip Roundups,” which will promote portable devices like tablets, smartphones and digital cameras.
The final phase, “Last Chance to Score,” will begin in September.
In addition, students will also have the opportunity to win back-to-school essentials with Newegg’s “Stay in ‘Touch’” sweepstakes. Sponsored by Intel and Microsoft, the giveaway, which begins July 16, will feature more than $60,000 in prizes, including two 2013 Ford Focus ST grand prizes and a host of touchscreen devices, such as Sony’s Vaio L-series SVL24147CXB 24-inch all-in-one PC, Asus’ Zenbook Prime UX31A-DH51 13.3-inch Ultrabook, Toshiba’s Satellite U925t Ultrabook and Acer’s Iconia W510-1422 tablet.
“Newegg is here to help students get properly outfitted for back-to-school this fall,” said Jacob Shin, Newegg’s customer acquisition VP.
Shin added that discounts and sweepstakes aside, the site has more than 3 million customer product reviews, making Newegg “a great resource for students and parents who aren’t quite sure which Ultrabook or all-in-one printer best fits their needs and budgets.”
This TWICE webinar, hosted by senior editor Alan Wolf, will take a look at what may be the hottest CE products at retail that will be sold during the all-important fourth quarter. Top technologies, market strategies and industry trends will be discussed with industry analysts and executives.
