Nationwide Names Majap Merchant

Winston-Salem, N.C. – Former Electrolux exec Patrick Maloney has joined the Nationwide Marketing Group as appliance merchandising VP.

He fills a position left vacant by organizational changes following the departure of Adam Thomas, and expands a white-goods team that includes senior appliances VP and fellow Electrolux alumnus Jeff Knock, and marketing senior VP Rick Weinberg.

Maloney had previously served as Electrolux’s buying groups director, where he worked closely with Nationwide’s dealer members. Prior to that he spent 10 years in retail, including stints at Best Buy and Lechmere, where he developed relationships with major vendors.

“Patrick brings a fundamental understanding of short- and long-term merchandising goals for independent retailers,” noted Knock. “He will help drive continued focus on the draw-escape-sell [step-up] model, and we look forward to having him as an integral part of our appliance merchandising team.”

Nationwide executive VP Dave Bilas said the group is “excited to bring on such a talented player [who] has a core understanding of the independent retail industry and the Nationwide business, and look forward to continued growth for our company.”

Added Maloney, “I’m really looking forward to reviving my partnerships with the vendors and building more intimate relationships with the retailers by becoming more involved in their day-to-day operations.”

In other Nationwide news, supplier Reliable Softworks (RSW) announced it will make its point-of-sale and field-service software applications available as on-demand Cloud applications. Its new RCloud platform provides the same functionality as the software, including in RCloud, including Mobile Everywhere, which allows dealers to manage their businesses from their mobile devices.

RSW will demonstrate RCloud and provide introductory offers next week in booth 4427 during Nationwide’s PrimeTime! show at The Venetian, which runs March 3-6.
