Libertyville, Ill. – Motorola Mobility announced three new additions its Razr line of smartphones on the Verizon Wireless network: the Razr M, Razr HD and Razr Maxx HD.
All of the phones feature a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, the ability to share a 4G LTE connection with up to eight Wi-Fi-enabled devices, an 8-megapixel camera with LED flash and 1080p HD recording, a front-facing camera for video chatting, a MicroSD slot capable of supporting up to 32GB cards, and nearfield communication (NFC) technology.
All three also feature Corning Gorilla Glass from DuPont and a splash-guard coating. They come with the Android 4.0 OS (upgradeable to 4.1 by the end of the year), Chrome for Android, YouTube, Google Play, Voice Actions for Android and Google Maps built in.
They are said to be enterprise ready and can support VPNs and Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync.
The Razr M has an AMOLED Advanced 4.3-inch edge-to-edge display. It measures 4.8 by 2.4 by 0.33 inches and weighs 4.4 ounces. It comes in black or white and can be pre-ordered starting today for a $99.99 suggested retail after a $50 mail-in rebate that comes in the form of a debit card.
Beyond the specs given by the companies, Verizon Wireless’ website shows the Razr M will have Bluetooth 4.0, and its front-facing video camera will be 0.3 megapixels and will be capable of 720p video chatting. It will be available in Verizon Wireless stores and online Sept. 13.
The Razr HD has a 4.7-inch HD display and a battery life that can reportedly provide up to six hours of voice-guided turn-by-turn GPS navigation. It will also come in black or white and will be available “before the holidays.” Pricing was not given.
The Razr Maxx HD is said to have a 32-hour battery life. It will come in black before the holidays. Pricing was not given.
All of these phones will be available on Verizon Wireless’ 4G LTE network.
