Dallas – A $149 ZTE smartphone launched by no-contract carrier MetroPCS expands the company’s selection of Android 4G LTE smartphones priced at $149 or less to four models.

The ZTE Avid 4G joins the Coolpad Quattro 4G at $79, LG Motion 4G at $149, and Samsung Galaxy Admire 4G is $129. The carrier offers a total of nine Android LTE phones priced up to $459.

The new ZTE model is available through authorized resellers and MetroPCS corporate stores. Availability through national retailers hasn’t been announced.

ZTE’s Android 4.0 Avid is the carrier’s latest handset to support the carrier’s joyn service, which lets users of joyn-compatible LTE phones share content instantly by opening a person’s contact card and pressing the share button. Shared content includes videos, pics, contact cards, and music. Joyn also features integrated instant messaging or chat and video calling over Wi-Fi.

Other Avid features include 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, 4-inch touchscreen, 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, VGA front-facing camera, and mobile hotspot capability.

The Avid 4G is available with any standard 4GLTE service plans from $40 - $70 per month and, for a limited time, promotional plans including 4GLTE for $30 and unlimited 4G LTE for $55.
