MB Quart Readies First Bluetooth Speakers

Chicago – Car audio brand MB Quart is getting into the portable audio market with the launch of four battery-powered Bluetooth speakers priced from a suggested $59 to $199.

The MB Quart Universal Bluetooth (QUB) speakers are among the “very few that put music and sound quality before size or price,” said Brian Sherman, director of business development for MB Quart parent Maxxsonics.

All will be available in April in multiple colors and feature battery lives ranging from 5 to 12 hours. All will come with USB charging capability, hands-free speakerphone capability, voice confirmation, and Bluetooth AVRCP to control basic music-playback functions on a Bluetooth-connected mobile device.

The $59 opening-price QUBOne features single driver. The rest have dual drivers but are mono. And the top QUBFour adds 110-volt adapter to quickly charge the speaker.

The QUBOne features built in microphone for hands-free calling and two bottoms, one enabling the unit to be placed on its side with controls remaining accessible.

The $99 QUBTwo adds Bluetooth’s secure simple pairing profile, noise-canceling microphone, shock-resistant rubber housing, 8-hour battery, and an input jack.

At $149, the QUBThree adds 10-hour battery and tethering loop.

The $199 QUBFour adds 12-hour battery and efficient neodymium magnets that, coupled with an amplifier that operates at a higher voltage, delivers louder sound with deeper bass.

The QUBFour also adds dual-source Bluetooth technology to enable two mobile devices to be paired simultaneously to one speaker, making it easier to switch between two mobile devices for music playback. The speaker also comes with included 110-volt adapter. Apple mobile devices display the speaker’s battery status.
