Mahwah, N.J. – Marantz is replacing an integrated amp and an SACD player/DAC with new models offering upgraded features.
The products are part of the brand’s high-end two-channel Reference series.
The $2,499 SA14S1 SACD player/DAC adds multiple features compared to its predecessor, including front USB-A DAC for use with iPhones, iPods, and iPads, said Paul Belanger, D+M Group product manager. It also adds rear asynchronous USB-B DSD decoding from a PC, multichannel-SACD downmixing to two channels, an upgraded Burr Brown DAC (DSD1792), and upgraded internal components.
The $2,999-suggested PM-14S1 integrated amplifier replaces the PM-15S2 and offers upgraded internal components and upgraded headphone stage, phono stage and speaker terminals. It also adds the ability to be controlled from a mobile app when paired with Marantz’s network player.
The integrated amp is rated at 2×90 watts into 8 ohms and 2×140 watts into 4 ohms, both from 20 Hz-20kHz.
Both use proprietary HDAM (hyper dynamic amplifier module) technology to deliver wide range, low noise and high speed, the company said.
